We are delighted to announce the presentation of artworks by Frank Thiel at La Banca Bar & Restaurant at Hotel de Rome Berlin.

    Opening Reception: May 19, 5 – 7 pm | rsvp@circleculture.com

    Behrenstraße 37 | 10117 Berlin
For the past two decades, Frank Thiel (*1966 in Kleinmachnow near Berlin) has recorded the changing architectural landscape of post-reunification Berlin with densely textured, large-scale color photographs. His work has become an integral part of the unfolding history of the city and its most important photographic record. His monumental installation at Checkpoint Charlie with portraits of a Russian and an American soldier commemorates the East-West-division of the city. In recent work, he has turned his camera on the massive glacial ice formations in Argentina Patagonia. Thiel’s trademark eye for detail and composition, and his painterly sense of abstracted texture, are present throughout his work.
