Elke Foltz, born in 1990 in Lagny-sur-Marne, France, is a French painter with Senegalese and German roots based in Berlin.
Her work reflects the search for harmony and questions what connects us as individuals. In her paintings, she combines vivid colours and organic shapes that relate to each other. The elements overlap and sometimes disrupt each other, creating abstract compositions that work like an ecosystem. Throughout her artistic process, she reintegrates pieces of canvas by collage into the painting. The cut-outs become a witness of the creative process and offer a chance for renewal and balance.
