The Solar Panel Art Series is an international initiative to foster outstanding creativity and positive creation. It has already raised funds to support hundreds of children with better light.
We find ourselves in a period of transition: Although we now know in many fields quite well what needs to be done and changed for a sustainable and climate-friendly future, the changes are not moving fast enough. That‘s why we need to focus more intensely on setting the right course for a successful transition.
Little Sun is a project by artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen with a mission to bring the sustainable energy to everyone. Launched at London’s Tate Modern, Little Sun believes that the power of sustainable energy transforms lives, especially for those 1.1 billion of us who live without access to energy. Their premium solar products and the social business model benefit communities without electricity and bring the power of the sun to everyone.
“Light is for everyone – it determines what we do and how we do it. This is why we have developed the solar-powered lamp Little Sun. One part of the artwork is the lamp and the activities it enables. The other is the successful distribution of Little Sun in off-grid communities, its journey from production to usage.”
