Circle Culture Gallery is thrilled to announce “NUCLEUS – The One Artwork Show,” an unconventional exhibition series that invites viewers to experience art in its most focused form. Located at Gipsstraße 11 in Berlin, this series will feature four talented artists, each showcased through a single, powerful work of art in an otherwise empty gallery space. Curated by Johann Haehling von Lanzenauer, the series seeks to explore the core aspects of our time through the lens of simplicity and concentration.
As the fourth and last artist to exhibit in the new NUCLEUS project by Circle Culture Gallery, Julien Saudubray presents his work “Growing #28”. The French artist based in Brussels, is known for his unique approach to painting that revolves around layering and deconstructing the traditional elements of the art form. His practice has been shaped by a deep fascination with the properties of paint itself, exploring color, form, and unpredictability. Saudubray’s technique of applying thin layers of paint invites both chance and surprise, allowing each layer to interact and influence the next.
His work often reflects a dialogue between the artist and the medium, where uncertainty is embraced, and the outcome remains open-ended. The motif of the eye, which frequently appears in his recent paintings, serves as a recurring symbol, both abstract and figurative, allowing him to explore the universal language of form. His studio, bathed in natural light, plays a vital role in his process, as he immerses himself daily in the meditative routine of creation.
Through a continual process of experimentation and reflection, Saudubray’s art challenges the boundaries of painting while maintaining a balance between control and spontaneity. His work embodies the idea of artistic evolution, where failure and uncertainty are seen as essential steps towards discovery and expression.
