CIRCLE CULTURE GALLERY AT sommer.frische.kunst. 2026 IN BAD GASTEIN

ASTORIA curated x bad:gastein

BETWEEN WATERS – Circulation. Reflection. Imagination.

For sommer.frische.kunst 2026, we are bringing together three artists whose practices speak to this year’s theme in different yet connected ways.

Ricky Lee Gordon

Fresh from his current exhibition at Circle Culture Hamburg, Ricky Lee Gordon will be joining us in Bad Gastein in person. Using earth pigments and organic materials, he creates works that feel fluid, atmospheric and in constant transformation. His practice reflects the movement of nature itself: always shifting, always becoming.

Marco Reichert

Reflection is at the core of Marco Reichert’s practice. His mirrored sculptures capture light, architecture and the presence of the viewer, turning the surrounding environment into part of the artwork. Nothing remains fixed: every encounter creates a new perspective.

Kanta Kimura

Many viewers associate Kanta Kimura’s works with organically formed rock structures, flowing water and landscapes shaped over time. Balancing precision and spontaneity, they evoke natural processes of growth, erosion and transformation, making them a fitting response to the theme Between Waters.

The three artists we are presenting in Bad Gastein are connected not only by long-standing relationships with Circle Culture, but also by a shared sense of movement and transformation. Each, in their own way, explores circulation – through nature, reflection, changing perspectives and forms shaped over time.

Together, their works create a dialogue between nature and architecture, material and light, perception and possibility – offering three distinct responses to Between Waters.

We look forward to welcoming you to Bad Gastein this July and to meeting Ricky Lee Gordon there in person.
